If you watch or record programmes as they're being shown on TV or live on an online TV service, you need to be covered by a TV Licence. This is the case whether you use a TV, computer, tablet, mobile phone, games console, digital box, DVD/VHS recorder or any other device.
If you don't watch TV at all, or you only ever watch on demand or catch-up TV, you can tell us you don't need a TV Licence. Please check the frequently asked questions below and then complete our No Licence Needed declaration.
You will need to cancel your licence before you complete your No Licence Needed declaration.
Please let us know your address is unoccupied. This will stop letters being sent to the address for up to six months.

Please note that it's TV Licensing's policy to visit some addresses to check that the occupants don't need a TV Licence. This is because when we visit and make contact, we find almost one in five people that tell us they don't need a TV Licence actually do need one. If we find that you're watching TV illegally you could risk prosecution and a fine of up to £1,000.*
* The Maximum fine in Jersey is £500 and the maximum fine in Guernsey is £2,000.
