A TV Licence costs £174.50. Most people spread the cost by paying by Direct Debit – payments are made automatically so you don’t have to worry about remembering. Or you can make a one-off payment by debit or credit card.
You could pay less for your licence if you’re over 75, blind, or live in a care home.
Monthly - from £14.54
Most popular way to pay, you pay smaller amounts more often.
Because of the law, you must pay for your first licence up front in the first 6 months. This means the first 6 payments are higher, about £29.10 a month. From month 7 onwards, you’ll pay about £14.54 a month.
You don’t pay more overall. If you cancel, you get any unused months refunded.
Quarterly - from £44.89
We'll take four payments throughout the year. Each payment will include a £1.25 charge.
Annual - £174.50
Pay for your licence in one yearly payment. No additional fee.
You can pay for your licence online today by debit or credit card. This is a one-off payment that you will have to repeat to renew.
Weekly, fortnightly or monthly - from £6.50
