A standard TV Licence costs £174.50. Most people spread the cost with a Direct Debit, from £14.54 per month. There are also concessions and other types of licences.
Monthly Direct Debit - from £14.54 (most popular)
We'll spread the cost of your first Direct Debit licence over six months, at around £29.10 a month. From then on you'll pay around £14.54 a month.
Quarterly Direct Debit - from £44.89
We'll take four payments throughout the year. Each payment will include a £1.25 charge.
Yearly Direct Debit or debit/credit card payment - £174.50
Pay the full licence fee automatically every year by Direct Debit, or pay for your licence by debit or credit card.

If you’re aged 74 and over and you, or your partner living at the same address, receive Pension Credit, you could get a free licence.
If you live in a care home or sheltered accommodation, you may be able to pay a reduced fee of £7.50.
If you’re blind (severely sight impaired), you can apply to pay half of the licence fee (£87.25).
If you only watch on a black and white TV, the licence costs £58.50.
For a single property such as a shop or office, you'll only need one TV Licence. If your business has more than one address, you may need multiple licences or a Company Group TV Licence.
