Your TV Licence starts on the day you buy it and lasts for up to a year. For example, if you buy a licence today, it’ll cover you for the rest of this month and the next 11 months after that.
TV Licences always end on the same date each year. For example, if your licence ends on 31 December, it will end on 31 December every year, even if you renew it late, unless the licence is cancelled.
You can check when your licence ends by signing in online. Just use your licence or customer number, last name, and postcode.
To find out when your TV Licence expires or if it has expired, you'll need your licence number, last name, and postcode of the licence holder.
