What changes are being made to the free over 75 TV Licence?

The BBC has decided that, because of coronavirus and the challenges to the UK, changes to over 75 licences won’t now happen until 1 August. This means that your current free licence will remain valid until then.

From 1 August 2020 free over 75 TV Licences, funded by the Government, will come to an end. There will be a new policy which means that anyone who is aged 75 or over and receiving Pension Credit will receive a free licence, paid for by the BBC.

Anyone aged over 75 but not receiving Pension Credit will need to pay for a licence if they need one.
