Blind concessionary

Blind (severely sight impaired) customers can get a half price TV Licence. You can apply by filling in our online application form, printing it out, and sending it to us along with your evidence.

Please include a copy of your evidence when you send us your application. There’s no need to send originals. Below are the types of evidence we accept:

  • CVI (Certificate of Visual Impairment)
  • BD8 Certificate
  • A certificate or other document issued by, or on behalf of, a Local Authority showing that you are blind (severely sight impaired)
  • A copy of a certificate from your Ophthalmologist stating that you are blind (severely sight impaired)

Remember you’ll need to print your application. If you’re not able to do this right now, you can download your completed form to print later.

The address to return your application is included on the form.

Why do we need proof that you are blind?

It is a legal requirement that we receive proof of your entitlement before we set up a 'blind concession' TV Licence for you.
