Blind concessionary

Blind (severely sight impaired) customers are entitled to a reduced-fee TV Licence. To apply you can complete an online application form, print it out, and send it to us along with proof of your entitlement.

You can send your application with any of the following evidence. Please do not send original documents.

  • CVI (Certificate of Visual Impairment)
  • BD8 Certificate
  • A certificate or other documentation issued by, or on behalf of a Local Authority showing that you are blind (severely sight impaired)
  • A copy of a certificate from your Ophthalmologist stating that you are blind (severely sight impaired)

You will need to print this application form at the end of the process.

Why do we need proof that you are blind?

It is a legal requirement that we receive proof of your entitlement before we set up a 'blind concession' TV Licence for you.
