Is it my responsibility to provide a TV Licence if my landlord provided the TV?

You’re still responsible. Check with your landlord first to find out if you’re covered by a valid TV Licence. If you’re not covered, you’ll need to buy one if you:

  • watch or record programmes as they’re being shown on TV or live on an online TV service
  • download or watch BBC programmes on iPlayer - live, catch up or on demand.

This applies to any provider you use and any device, including a TV, desktop computer, laptop, mobile phone, tablet, games console, digital box or Blu-ray/DVD/VHS recorder.
